October 11, 2007

Let’s face it, the reason why you are building this website is to make money - Right?

Here are some “must have” items for your web site.

  • Google AdSense - This is a given for every web site, however you need to research how much the clicks are paying (info in the book) because if you are only getting pennies per click, you are giving up valuable web real estate when you could be using something else to make you money.
  • eBay -affiliate program - All most all niches have physical products that can be promoted along side of any virtual products. The best way to do this is by showing eBay listings on your website. There is a fantastic product available that will build a niche site using eBay listings. Have a look at this software - its called BANS - let me tell you it is worth every penny. Personally I am using it to supplement my Wordpress pages but there are many people (the site boasts 3,000 users) who use it as a stand alone niche web site. At the very least you need to look at it. You must have an account with Commission Junction so you can be a part of the eBay affiliate program. Its your affiliate id that is placed in the BANS system. You get paid when people buy at eBay through your link.
  • ClickBank - this is the premo place to get your virtual products to list on your web site. An account here is a MUST HAVE. Sign up today - its free - don’t worry if you don’t use it for a while. Signing up here is the first step to making money online.
  • Amazon - these guys are always doing something to improve the game. They are now trying context links - its in beta right now. Sign up for an affiliate account and learn all about how you can show Amazon products and make money.

Linking is a must

  • Everyone knows linking is a must. It helps your site establish its existence. Search engines look at the links as a way of determining if your site is popular. The best links are the ones that link to you but where you don’t have to link back. Anyone can exchange links with another site. Its another story getting sites to link to you without reciprocal linking. This type of linking is view as more valuable. A service we use is called 3way linking. There is a fee but it is worth it. I took a brand new e-commerce site and with the 3way linking strategy, increased my search engine position very quickly. Visit the site and read about it.

Articles can do two things for your site.
