Are Backlinks Really Necessary?
September 25, 2008
The answer is yes.
When some links to you its shows Google (and the world for that matter) that your site has value.
Think about it
Who would link to a useless site? Would you post a link to one of the spammy little Adsense pages? You know the ones - Google has been working hard to “get rid of them” by giving credit to sites with real content.
But if you think about it who would link to one of those spammy sites? No one. The reason why? Because they are garbage sites. BUT - you would link to a site you like. One that you felt had value. One that you would like to visit again because you enjoyed the content.
Selling & Marketing Without Your Own Web Site - Here’s How
July 9, 2008
If you do any type of marketing at all - and anyone who is selling anything has to market it - then you have developed some type of relationship with Google.
Some people have learned to love Google and their Adwords system and others have learned to hate it. Regardless of which one you are, Google is here to stay and we need them.
If you have a web site and you have become skilled at the organic listing game (SEO) with your pages ranking well, Congratulations! But, if your pages are still lost on page 55 of Google (or worse) and you have little to no traffic then the PPC game is what you need to do. In fact even if your pages rank well for lots of good keywords and keyword phrases, you probably don’t rank for ALL your keywords. For those of you who sell physical products and do sales and special offers, PPC is still a necessary part of your marketing campaign.
High Impact Graphics Are a Must!
June 28, 2008
Whats the first thing that hits you when you visit a web site or sales page?
Its the graphics and colors they use - right? Every web page uses graphic of some type. You know the saying “a picture is worth 1,000 words” - well its true.
The images and colors on your web site can stimulate a wide range of emotions. They can convey a message. They can invite the reader to stay or disgust them so they leave your page right away (not the effect you really want).
This is the day and age of “getting it done yesterday”. We are always in a hurry, especially when creating our web pages. But its also a time where being unique is the difference between making a sale and not making a sale.
Its typical for most online entrepreneurs to buy the package deals, web sites in a box or MRR products and never change anything about the pages. The beginner often just changes the name and payment address on most of those cookie cutter packages.
Their page looks just like the page of all the other people who bought the same package. Successful sites stand out, look unique and have high appeal
There are 2 components to a sales page that beginners (and some experienced marketers) fear. One is the sales copy the other is the graphics. Both require skills and unfortunately they are 2 totally different skills.
Let talk about graphics for a minute.
Yes Articles Are Important
June 16, 2008
We all know that creating and submitting articles is an inexpensive way to create back links and traffic to your web site - but how many of us do it?
Everything we do takes time and creating articles is no different. Some people are terrified by the prospect of writing articles. Yes its another skill but it doesn’t have to be difficult.
Pretend you are writing a letter to your mother explaining what your product or service is. Of course there are a few more parts to it than that but this will get your started. Sometimes just getting that first paragraph written is enough to get you started and your “brain to hand” motion working.
