I just stumbled upon a new product that is really cool. It sniffs out micro niches.

Don't know where to start? The first step is to insert a term into the program and it will return results of keywords and keyword phrases that are actively being used by searchers. You have to start somewhere..........

Next step - select one of the keyword phrases. It will give you the numbers of searches for that term in a month. If you select "get exact phrase count" it will tell you how much competition there is for that term. Not the broad term but the exact phrase. You want to know the numbers for the exact phrase not the broad term.

I know what you are thinking... so what, I can look up the competition by typing the phrase into Google's search bar.

Thats true. But... if you are doing real research, having the results for all your keyword prospects in one place saves a tremendous amount of time. Not only that, but you can sort that list making it easier to see what phrases are more desirable.

Its great to return the number of competing pages but it's even better if we can find out the strength of the competing pages. Look at the sample below. The search term was "lookup a phone number" and while it shows 11,400 indexed pages for that phrase, it's showing 0 are optimized for the term.

If this was your search term - it should be relatively easy to create a page and have it ranking high in Google.

Don't you wish you had access to a program that can give you this information?

Now you can - go check out Micro Niche Finder now

I've just given you a brief taste of what this inexpensive program can do. They also have several bonuses and videos showing you 5 different ways you can use this information to make money.

.

Whether the market is tapped or untapped, identifying a niche equates to more, faster profit for you.

Have you considered these niche markets?

• Moms. Currently, there are more than 32 million moms online. If you have a mom-friendly product or service, you can tap this enormous market. Moms use the Internet to search for more than baby food recipes and parenting tips! However, you should be aware that most moms are web-savvy and will see through any condescending or intrusive marketing ploys. Make sure you keep it real—don't misrepresent your products, and don't let your marketing material sound preachy or highbrow.

• Travel. More and more Internet users are booking travel reservations and researching travel-related material online. This year alone, online travel and travel-related leisure sales will reach $78 billion. The travel industry is one of the fastest growing sections of e-commerce, and there is plenty of profit to go around!

• China. There is a huge, largely untapped market in China. Over 111 million people in China use the Internet. The downside is that most of them don't have credit cards. Few Internet marketers have been able to come up with an effective method of doing business with China—maybe you will be the one to change that.

• Baby boomers. Everyone knows there are millions of baby boomers in the United States alone. Products and services that appeal to this generation can enjoy enormous success. The baby boom generation is fast approaching retirement age, so products and services that deal with investment, retirement options, and later lifestyle changes are hot topics online today.

So how do you find market niches that are profitable? There is no fool proof formula to finding the perfect niche. It's a mix of research, research and research - with a dash of instinct and passion thrown in.

Passion - because it doesn't matter what niche you pick, if you are not passionate about the topic, the site is doomed to failure. After you learn the game, your passion can be the GAME - then it doesn't matter what the topic is. Your passion will become being successful at what ever topic you pick. While you learn the process, you really should pick a topic you know something about.

Instinct - is what your gut is telling you. Whats your immediate reaction to the niche? Did you find the topic or product and say yuck or did you have a wow moment where you said to yourself "I didn't know you could......." (get these, buy these, etc -you fill in the blanks).

Research

You want to pick markets that fill a need, are in demand, appeal to a persons pride (items to make them look good - clothing, cars, jewelry) or greed (money).

These are the tools used by TME staff and TME members

Niche Bot - This is a super tool and its getting better all the time. Searches are current. It will soon be (if not already) the #1 keyword research tool available.

Niche Inspector - this tool resides on your desktop and is a great tool for finding profitable niches. It works with "the big 3" search engines and will return PPC rates - a must have if you want to earn Adsense dollars

KeyWord Spy - this handy tool lets you spy on your competition and tell you what keywords they are using. There is a paid and free version of this tool available. Keyword Spy is a keyword research tool which tells you exactly which keywords work and which do not by gaining access to your competitors' keywords. Keyword Spy system helps you pin point easily the keywords that are driving traffic to a particular website.
With just a few clicks, Keyword Spy can show you your competitors PPC, Organic and Affiliate advertising campaigns for you to stay on top of your rivals. You really need to add this to your arsenal of hot tools.

Lets look at some other resources to help you find a suitable niche

Google Trends - Start comparing your chosen niche topics using this tool. See how it compares with what the rest of the world is looking for. The number one place to go to assess the popularity of a keyword, in terms of search engine traffic

eBay Pulse - Let's face it - people searching on eBay are looking to BUY! Look at what the popular searches are - thats where people are spending money.

A9 - At the beginning of each week, A9.com lists the top product searches for the preceding week, identifying the goods most in demand on Amazon.com

Yahoo Buzz - See what the world is buzzing about at Yahoo

Google Keywords - Use Google's external keyword search tool

Overture - will show searches in January. I believe they have phased this search tool out

Wordtracker - this is paid service but it does have a free section -give it a try.

Everything2.com - they describe it better than I could "A Place to Discuss and Socialize
E2 lets you interact with the highly diverse community of people who write the Everything2 content.
This is an unusual and vibrant community where you might be exposed to ideas, styles, viewpoints, personalities, suggestions about music, movies and other art forms, and other kinds of inspiration that you may not find in one place anywhere else."

See what popular at the social network sites like Squidoo - check out their top 100 to see what others are interested in.

StumbleUpon - once again check out what others are interested in.

Yahoo Buzz log - I like Buzzlog because unlike Google Zeitgeist or AOL Hot Searches, Yahoo Buzzlog aims at spotting niche trends.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you find a Niche to use, you need to do keyword research. Here are some resources to help you.

The first one is http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword/ - This is a great free tool

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The proper use of keywords in a web site is done by finding all the synonymic terms for that particular keyword.

That means words that are related to your main keyword. This is important as search engines are looking for the related word s that are typical in a conversation about a particular topic.

Use www.kwbrowes.com for that purpose. I love this tool. It's very simple and strait to the point.

Lets look at the word<see></see> Pasta.

You will notice that I've marked with red arrows, the words you would probably use to create more pages about the topic pasta.

Notice the words in the upper left side.

<see></see>You would, most likely use these words in a conversation about pasta.

<see></see>Each keyword you see listed is clickable and will drill down further.

<see></see>Go try the tool - its free.

<see></see>For tools that are very specific try NicheBot.

A word about using Web 2.0 type sites for research - don't dismiss these sites. They are valuable for both their idea generating content and later when you are promoting your site, you will become one of the crowd.

The wrong business will lead to wasted efforts and a lack of profits—a discouraging prospect indeed.

The first consideration should be your own interests and passions. If you are not passionate about your products or services, your business will not succeed. It's as simple as that. You must be convinced beyond doubt that your product or service is worthwhile, exciting, effective, and something other people will want or need.

Another reason you need enthusiasm in your corner is your own business stamina. You've probably worked at jobs you couldn't care less about, if only so you could get a paycheck. You may even be working at a job like that now. How long do you intend to stay there? Are you putting your best efforts forth at work every day? If you are not, you're not passionate about what you do—and you won't get very far.

Once you've identified a business you can generate plenty of passion and enthusiasm for, further consider these two important questions:

• Does your product or service fill a need or a demand? Is there a high demand for this product or service, at least in niche markets?
• Can you inexpensively attract high numbers of targeted traffic to your website? Are there popular forums, ezines, or websites dedicated to this type of product or service, or used by your target market?

If you cannot answer these questions with a resounding "yes," you need to go back to the beginning and choose another product or service you're passionate about.

The best thing you can do to facilitate success as an Internet marketer is to exercise patience and put in the research at the beginning. Don't invest your time in finding a supplier, setting up a website, choosing affiliates, and putting your marketing machine into motion until you have the three key ingredients in place: passion, demand, and marketing avenues.

The good news is that there are thousands of niche markets out there, and each one presents an opportunity to begin a profitable online business!
