I love my job…

No, really I do.  I build and fix websites for other people and in the process I meet some really great folks (ok I’ll admit it, I meet some wacky ones too) but in my dealings I also get to see what other people are doing. What they’ve created. What they are selling. How they earn their living.

I run across some pretty average stuff and some crap. You know same crap, different day. I don’t talk about the crappy or mediocre products. Whats the point? If I wouldn’t buy it, it’s not worth talking about. Not everything I see is crap though – thank goodness!

Well, this week I had the opportunity to do some work for John “Xfactor” and today I was privileged to read his new ebook / course that talks about how he makes a living from his Adsense earnings.

Don’t roll your eyes. I know what you are thinking.  Joel Comm bashed this subject to death already ages ago. You’re right, and there was a point a few years ago where everyone was trying to make a living off Adsense. It was the hot and trendy thing to do. But  you know human nature …

Everything goes in cycles. Thats ok. Just because tons of people aren’t doing it now doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. Obviously John has found the formula that works for him as its his primary source of income.

Picking a good hosting company is very important. Almost like buying a house. Sure you can spend a year here or 6 months there but its a pain to move.

You settle in, get used to the layout of the place and packing everything up to move… Don’t get me started!

Well, your web hosting is similar. Find a place to host your accounts and stay. Who wants to move their sites from place to place? Once again I don’t!

So what makes a good host? For most people its support.

Most web owners are not technical. All they want (and want to know about) is to get their files loaded, collect their email and make sure their sites are visible 24/7.
